Sergio Rico?

Not to be surprised though. He has had FANTASTIC performances for Sevilla, except the mysterious and weird match against RM.

Beto was one of the best in La Liga in 2013-14, and Rico substituted him perfectly, especially in 2015 after Beto dealing with a lot of injuries.

For me, Rico should be a starter even in the next season, and Beto should remain the subby. He tried to come back against Zenit in the second leg, but screwed everything up and went back again to the subby position, at the warm and cozy bench.

I expect Rico to be called constantly for the NT and be Spain's second keeper after De Gea in the near future when Casillas steps out.

Also Vitolo and Aleix will be in the 2016 World Cup squad for Spain as well. Iborra might also join them hopefully!

No thiago, costa, azpilcuelta, herrera, mata etc

Madness, every single one of those would start for most National teams. Such strength in depth.

Would agree for Thiago and Herrera. As for the others, maybe except Mata to some extent, Azpi and Costa are not Spain national team material. Azpilicuate might make the bench and be used when Spain really needs to defend (can't see that happen a lot), but Costa simply is not suited for the Spanish national team, and it has been proven for a fact in all of his performances for Spain so far. Even El Nino suits better than Costa.

There are some of our players that could be in the squad. Tarin, Palencia and Adama come to mind first. Seems like they are not really needed although I think especially Adama could play for the team for sure. He also participated in the last U19 Euros where he was the 3rd youngest player of the whole tournament.

Tarin's not in the squad? He was Spain's U19 Captain.

They won the U19 Euros with a 2:0 win against Russia.

10th title in this category for Spain which means that they have won it more times than any other nation in Europe.

7th since the turn of the century. France have 3 wins, Germany 2 and Italy only one (in the same period) Spain the undisputed masters of European football on all levels (club and international) since 2000.

Spain must have a dearth of quality young CBs in their ranks.
