Yeah well it's either Madrid derby in the final or El Clásico. The draw is commercially the best one possible, coincidentally..

Don't mind this competition. I actually prefer it over playing Supercopa in August when most players are not ready yet and then having double CDR fixtures all over January and February.
Players will come off a two week rest then play against Espanyol in La Liga before going to Saudi Arabia and then have another 7 or 10 days (if we lose against AM) of rest before playing the next league game against Granada at home. Should also be a good test playing against AM and then possibly RM.

The RFEF have announced that the draw for the Spanish Super Cup will take place tomorrow. Barcelona and Real Madrid will be kept separate. One will get Athletic Club, and the other Real Sociedad. The games will be played in January. [via @samuelmarsden]

It will also be good for the young players to get a hand on it.
