Just for the record,you guys should take such numbers with grain of salt. They are reported by the media as the club don't release the player wages IIRC

Messi is way, way underpaid. Regardless of how good they are, or how much better they are than the other players, Messi and Neymar are the big draws.

All in all, this total payroll seems low, considering Barca total revenues.

Can quote a dozen Spanish and Catalan sources too. He is earning that much. He is getting paid 22m deducting taxes. 45% income tax rate or so.

This is an old article stemming from 2013 where Cristiano renewed with Real Madrid. Note it says 17m net salary per annum. Messi leapfrogged him as the highest paid footballer in the World with his renewal in 2014, if I'm not wrong

Barca already pays 60-65% of its income on player salaries per season.

Sporting Salary in 2014/15 being 352m and its only gone up. A very, very big chunk of this goes to the footballers of the club, not the basketball players or other sports.

That Messi figure doesn't seem all too unlikely IMO.

Stand corrected if wrong but those are crazy numbers if for salary only. The whole squad cant have wages after tax. Doesnt add up.
