He's been very impressive this World Cup. Another one of the players linked to Man Utd after LVGs arrival.

Anyone who watch him regulary who can tell a bit more about him and how he does in Eredivisie?

He is amazing. I have said in the BMI thread as well -- this guy is the real deal. He is very composed and has a good technique for a defender. The only thing that he needs is to become more physical. He is decently fast as well. I would love to have him. He has just a one year contract left - and is supposed to be able to go for about 8 - 10mEUR.

Let's do it. Get on it Zubi.

Maybe we should go for him instead of Mathieu then.

Never seen him for club but at this WC he was awesome. Smart, great ball playing defender, great tackler, confrontational, and can make a smart foul when necessary. He's the kind of player who'd fit perfectly with Pique in that sweeper/stopper pair and is near flawless technically for a CB. Plus he's been smart enough not to break the integrity of a defensive structure by going headless chicken David Luiz style. He's shown his versatility playing in both a 2 and 3 man backline when called upon and can be disciplined/smart when having to defend out in wide areas (like our defenders are called upon to do often). Everything about his profile as a player fits the mold of what we need.

Buying a player who only just made a name for himself in the WC can be a mistake but he definitely warranted further scouting and serious consideration. Our coaching staff has the resources and time to gather his game-tapes and make a very detailed evaluation. Cheap, young, and performed against big dogs like Argentina/Spain. He's Dutch and had this to say back in 2011: "My ultimate dream is to play a Barcelona. I think it's possible. If I continue like this... Why not?"

Zubi should phone up Koeman for a review on De Vrij. After all, who better to tell you about a player than his former coach.

Put in a string of poor performances for Feyenoord at the start of last season and was stripped of the captaincy. Also, I don't know all the details, but I read somewhere about him going behind Feyenoord's back to work with some trainer who wasn't conected to the club. He didn't tell Feyenoord about it and they were not too pleased apparently.

I'd rather see De Vrij develop elsewhere. I fear he wouldn't be used enough here. Also, there were strong rumours about De Vrij being linked to Lazio. Such a transfer might be better for him.

He's certainly had a great World Cup, decent passing, use the ball smartly, strong in the tackle, and seems to posses a good turn of pace. Wouldn't be surprised if Van Gal took him to Utd.
Realistically £10mil could be a bargain,

Was he the one who was marking and denied Gonzalo more than once? If so, solid game, but frustrated me.
