Same. I have just renounced ATP. lol

Novak has to be the least charismatic champion in the Open Era, surpassing Lendl. His forced clownish shenanigans are barely entertaining, and less so his game. A murray-novak final is an eye sore, and offers zero marketing appeal for the sport. Kudos to those who put up with the torture.

The new kids are mentally and tactically naive. Dark days ahead. :(

It hurts doesnt it...I cherish these moments of...Small and naive people...AHHH

Congrats Djoko ! well deserved !

I really hope that Serena will reach the slam record of Graf, one of the most false record in the history: without the eliminaton, almost physical, of Monica Seles (who was confortably wtp n.1 for years) by a german Graf fan, she would never, ever achieved all these slam and record. Without this unexpected help, she would have won perhaps the half.

MONICA SELES FOREVER :hooray::wub:

Continue to cherish. Doesn't change the fact that Mr. gluten-free-oxygen-chamber has no appeal to speak of. And will be a mere footnote in ATP's greatest rivalry.

Apart from being a classy athlete, Steffi was/is a great ambassador of the game.

Steffi's tally may be considered inflated due to Seles' stabbing. But she did live with the implications and overcame personal turmoil. And she finished with 22 on her mantle. And if we want to talk about IFS, if rafa's career was not blighted by injuries, he may have surpassed Federer's tally. But the fact of the matter is Rafa has 14 and federer 17, and the latter is considered the GOAT by a sizable majority. We could infer all day long but the record speak for themselves. And If Graf was benefited by a weak field, so has Serena. Let's not pretend otherwise. If Graf's 22 is false, so is your and my existence.

Perhaps half ? So Seles would have taken 11 slams away from Graf to reach 20 or so against 11 for Graf ? come on.

And what about Justine Henin ? Her career was cut short by injuries but she was simply a better clay player than serena ever was. Now, Serena has "only" 3 RG but the thought still deserve consideration.
Also, I doubt that Graf's era saw more turnover in the top 3-10 seeds than Serena's. Nowadays it's her vs interchangeable eurasian players.

We are talking about a attempt of the life of Seles, absolutely nothing to do with a injury, it is in no way comparable.
She was 19, undisputed n.1, 8 GS, the youngest RG winner (vs Graf), and her career was cut short by a knife in the back. Nothing to do with a injury, something quite unique.

GOAT Graf, Serena, Federer, Nadal, Laver, Borg,....? Sorry, I do not know, and I do not enter into these discussions.

For me Seles forever, only my opinion.

Funny 'cause i'm talking about ruined careers, you're the one making the comparison about the specifics which are irrelevant.

Also just realized you were talking about graf's grand chelem, not her whole career.
In any case Serena never had a worthy rival like Seles was to Graf... Only Henin looked good enough as long as she lasted.

Yes, Henin was a fantastic player, unlucky injuries and personal problems have influenced her career. She had a incredible back hand.
But Seles was something else, 8 slams at 19 (+ other records), as unique phenomenon (Henin first slam at 21), more unique than rare as her ruined careers. But yes, ruined careers are ruined careers, by unlucky injuries or by a knife.
