I honestly don't think that anyone cares about this award. Ballon d'Or is what everyone wants. Too bad those two awards split few seasons ago.

What they probably should want is the one that is ran better.
Can't remember which organisation makes up more Mickey mouse trophies (did FIFA come out with MVP of the year some seasons back? Or was that after they split?)

I'd certainly value votes of players + managers over journalists in many ways.

But best if it stayed joint and was given appropriate weighting
