yeah Gerrard would suit modern football the best.

Would be quite a battle between Gerrard vs Bellingham.
Bellingham is quite similiar to Lampard, especially Lampard under Ancelotti when he also played an advanced role. Ham is more silky with the ball

Gerrard.
Lampard
Scholes.

Because scholes was the best English actual midfielder doesn't make him better than those two.

He was the best English one but not close to the Top class ones in Europe.

If Gerrard was playing in a better team he would have won more, and probably the one that would fit in almost any team of the 3.

Who was the best? Lampard of course.
Followed by scholes.

That choke artist should not even be compared to other two

I'd take Gerrard.
Did it in the weakest team of the 3 surrounded constantly by mediocrity.
He'd have won a number of trophies in an even semi coherent top team.
Most complete of the 3 IMO, not necessarily the best passer or shooter but he encompassed a more complete set of skills than the other two.

Scholes was a rare football player in a country of peasant football.
Lampard was a more tactical wise version of an English midfielder due to Mourinho.
I will say Lampard was the best for an English team while Scholes could have played in La Liga, not only peasant football.

BTW I choosed Lamp because this is a question put by a peasant football fan and Penaldo fan. So I guess it's about that style.

Of course I would take Scholes in any serious team that produces football outside England. Scholes is on a debate about the best holding mid in history but from the peasant box to box perspective and kick and run, Lampard was better due to Mourinho instilling some tactics in him, he was more direct. All this without ignoring that Scholes was the best long passer so very good at the style too.

I shall chose either Scholes or Lampard , hard choice.

Gerrard has something slippery to his play.
