Thibaut Courtois

Villarato!
He is certainly the best shot stopper at the moment... but he couldn't play with his feet for his life

It's not just the shot stopping that counts for his rep now. Organising the Atleti D the way he does, being very good in air and reasonable with his feet.. He could be a keeper in any top side today. Very happy for the guy. Reminds me a lot of Coupet who was so very good and underrated when Lyon was still a tough side to play for anyone.

Me too and I really hope he stays at Atlético, he is crucial to their success

I can see Mou getting him back next season, to be a starter. If he has brains, ofc.

The question is: Will Courtois want to go back? He has only 1 year left on his contract and if he wants to stay at Atlético, they'll sell him rather than letting him go for free next year.

Courtois has two years left on his contract I think

Chelsea are the type of club and Mourinho the type of manager that would freeze him out of his career for a couple of years if he didnt play ball.

If he had one year left he could buy himself out and leave.

You're right, it's 2 years

Made great saves but most of them involved action with both teams inside the box, not really from open play...Didn't see any 1v1s and was rarely asked to play the ball at his feet - the times he did, he hoofed the ball out of touch...repeatedly...He doesn't have a complete game, IMHO, for what Barcelona require

He had a late 1v1 save vs Harzard, pretty much his only difficult stop.

Agreed completely, FCBarca...

ter Stegen is a much better fit for us, he is great with the ball on his feet etc...I really like his attitude, he isnt afraid to take risks and is very lively. Has great reflexes and is a type of a leader... He's great off his line and deals with corners pretty easily

I lost count of how many times he has saved points for Monchengladbach this season, to be honest... He has developed immensely since last season
