did henry give a farewell speech in spanish or catalan?

Everyone did. Rafa Marquez said goodbye too :worthy:

And speaking about Henry - for me this was his most important Barca goal ever, even when everyone would be obviously talking about his two goals at Bernabeu during the 2-6

Everyone who watched this game knows how much difficult it could have become, if we didn't manage to score so early in the second half. And even for a team like Barca, a clear win 1-0 for Lyon would have offered a hell of a tough second leg for us. Without this goal we could be even out of the Champions League, because Lyon would be looking totally different at Camp Nou with 1:0 than 1:1 in the first leg.

Very bad third season for Barca, but everything is good when it finishes good. No reason for me even to remember these last 9 months of time, thank you and good bye :worthy:

French superstar Thierry Henry, according to multiple published reports, has signed a deal with the New York Red Bulls and will join the club after the World Cup.

Henry, recently villified for his blatant handball against Ireland in their World Cup qualifyingplayoff, is coming off a disappointing season with FC Barcelona. The French winger scored just four goals this season after contributing much more last year when the Catalans won the treble.

A World Cup and European Championship winner, Henry has won every major piece of silverware in club and international football, but has fallen somewhat off the radar with the Spanish champions.

No details have been released in regards to the contract.

^^ now that's interesting, we all knew he'd go to the MLS, maybe the RM cripple Raul will link up with him, formidable partnership against clueless yanks..

Ah I'm so excited I will get to see him play every week now! I am going to buy tickets to every Red Bulls game remotely close to his arrival to make sure I'm there for his debut.

Even though this season has been a disaster for him nobody can understate how important he was last year with both his goals and link up play. It will be an honor to watch a legend of the game play!

Good luck to Henry, I never was a fan by any means but he was a pleasant surprise last season and I'll cheer him on in New York at least once this season.

even during his arsenal days?
i know he was a bit cocky but you gotta love him..:)

I respected his talent but didn't like his personality. Great player, just never my favourite even if I liked his Arsenal side much, much more than the current one.

according to Sport, Henry might stay longer than expected as west ham claimed that they were told that barca already offered henry a
contract renewal.
this is good news for me except that he needs to take a hell of a pay cut!

Had an impressive season in 2008/09.

Was utter crap in 2009/10.So it/s mixed feelings for me...his absolute lack of usefulness this season..has left a very sour taste in my mouth.Even if his goals and contribution in 2008/09 were massive(and I'll have to agree with desoe here)especially that goal against Lyon away...
