Henry is not the best striker arsenal have had either. That honour belongs to Dennis Bergkamp.

Not for me plus Bergkamp was more of a second striker/Playmaking advanced midfielder behind a lone striker either Right or Titi, the Titi-Bergkamp partnership was just fantastic to watch, they are probably the best 2 strikers in Arsenal's history

It's just that shameless appearance at Emirates that really taints his legacy here for me

I dont know, his performances in the whole season was below par and I dont think that he meant something at the emirates even if he admitted that he loves Arsenal but he was best example for a professional at Barca and he never complained about sitting on bench like an ego swede did and he was always an example to follow for young players(Bojan,..) he is an awesome character and I will always remmember him as a player who took part in Barca's best season not as a player who didnt play well in 10 minutes at the emirates
Not saying it was a performance to take pride in but it doesnt deserve 3 posts in one page for me

Fair enough...And I agree about Bergkamp, what a combo and eventual trident with Pires they had at Highbury

A second striker is still a F'n striker!!

TBH I thought in his time Ian Wright did more for Arsenal as well.

a comaprison between wright and Henry is valid, you cant compare Bergkamp with anyone from them as he is clearly a number ten not a number nine
Anyway,
wright has a better goalscoring record 158 goals in 288 matches
Henry with 226 in 380 even when having the support of Pires and Bergkamp is having a worse record,Wright maybe indeed a better goalscorer but Henry was more complete

But Wright lead Arsenal Henry can't lead for shit.

Without Wright in the mid 90's Arsenal would have finished a lot lower than those mid table positions. He lead the team on the pitch. When Arsenal needed something to happen for them, he did it.

Henry needed his team mates for Arsenal to have been the special team that they were. Henry couldn't lead them on the pitch. Whenever Arsenal needed something, Henry was found wanting.

When things went well Henry was top, top class. When things went badly Henry couldn't lead them on the pitch, whereas in Wright's days whenever things went badly for Arsenal he was there and not hiding.

I don't care if Henry was a more complete player. Wright was a better leader on the pitch.

Cool pic

Henry is very well liked in NY other than the Irish population obviously, he will be our captain this year. He's a great mentor for the team's young players and has been a leader on the field too.

Absolute rubbish. Bergkamp was a magician with the ball, like Zola, but Henry is by far the best player to have ever graced the Premiership. Lionel Messi may have godly statistics at the moment, but Henry was regularly scoring 30 and assisting a further 20 in his Arsenal days, and he carried that piss poor Arsenal team to the Champions League Final in 2006. Sensational player, and the only Arsenal I genuinely admired.

Yeah, Bergkamp was brilliant at times but Henry was different class.

Staggering to think what he could have achieved if at a better club in his prime.

FWIW though, Henry only scored 30+ and assisted 20+ in one season at Arsenal and each of Messi's last three seasons have been superior to Henry's best season (statistically speaking).
