I thing Thierry is trying to explain the term "best player" attaching accolades/victories with which a player has been attached to and be a part of its success.

as intelligent as he is, his views were also realistic in that he would not bloat Messi's grandeur too early as that may be cosidered as a cheap cliche and simply buyest, if not constipated...:icon_neutral:

Nevertheless,
Messi is not the one to be concerned with all the media hype anyways.
There is time for everything, almost everything.

For the life of me, I really don't understand why he doesn't take more free-kicks for Barca, especially with the lack of success from the likes of Alves and Xavi are having.

I wonder this all the time as well, I remember so many FKs of his for Arsenal. Our FK conversion rate is horrendous, considering the number of FKs in really good positions we get.

Just when i praised him for talking less...

I think Henry not taking FK's in Barca is due to his chronic back injury.. i might be wrong but i think it is a big factor

Ever since Ronaldinho left, Barca have no longer been threatening from free kicks. When it was the Ronnie-Deco combination, I always expected our FKs to bear fruit. Now I just hope that when they bounce off the wall they come right back to our players.

I agree with you, I've also been thinking the same. He has taken I think one FK this season, and it was on target as well. But there must be a physical reason for him not taking them. Last season, his back kept him from playing to his potential. This season, it's gotten better and now FK's are the struggle. Next, he'll be doing both no problem :cool:

I miss our superbly worked set pieces we had at the start of the season. Why do the obvious thing of shooting at the goal or going for a header.

True. Alves never gets them on target, although xavi gets them quite close. However i have a feeling pep might be saving them for the death run. Expect a few cheeky freekicks during the madrid and valencia games.
