A quality player still. Why on Earth Bayern didnt go for him, especially for the cheap price? Obviously not in Lewys league but still. They still lack a proper 9,even if Mane could sort of do it.

Because he is no centre forward for a ball possession team. He is no proper 9. Even in Leipzig he worked in combination with a "real" central forward normally Poulsen who is a hard worker. He is not a better "centre forward" than e.g. a Gnabry would be - just with worse ball control etc. And he is not the mentally strong player that even might excel at adverse conditions - and not the match smartest.

With confidence and in the right setup Werner can score goals in masses - but he needs the environment for that. And that is not a team with 60+ ball possession that usually plays against teams that do not leave much room behind the defence.

Thing with Werner was that he had many chances to score in the PL too but the guy was either offside or somehow missed when it was easier to score.

Incredible how bad he has become in finishing of chances, i remember young Timo at leipzig, he was a good finisher but after hhe has gone to Chelsea he has become Fernando Torres 2.0.

Not bad outside the box but cannot seem to finish chances. It's a shame as he's a respectable dribbler and has decent work-rate. I could tell he was gonna miss them two chances - even his body shape in setting himself didn't look right.

He is more a winger, still have pace and can play nice passes

but his times as a striker are over, guy cant score anymore
