Cleverly-Carrick-Wilshere could actually be an excellent midfield for England if they all develop well and work together properly. Cleverly as the attacking midfielder, (I see him as a less talented Fabregas) Carrick a holding midfielder and Wilshere running around everywhere as usual.

I think they will be great short term, longer term i see Wilshere/Hughes or Wilshere/McEachran.

Who knows though. You never know how players turn out and Cleverley may be Wilshere CM partner for the next 8-10 years, look Gareth Bale, 3 years ago who could have predicted a skinny lanky LB would go on to be one of the most dangeorus and sort after wingers in football?

But yeah I do feel Cleverley derserves more credit. I'm not sure if its because people don't take any notice or if he plays for Man United or what, but he has a lot more potential than people give him credit for.

I's actually like to see what Welbeck could do in midfield. I'm just not sure he has the engine for it.

I'd start letting this team grow together for England personally:

Hart - Jenkinson Smalling Jones Gibbs - Carrick Wilshere - Theo Rooney Chamberlain - Welbeck

With Butland, Walker, Caulker, Shelvey, Cleverley, McEachran, Barkley, Zaha, Sterling, Defoe etc to support. Need to start using more technical players now. Far behind the rest of Europe in that sense. These players also need to grow to learn to play with each other. Can't have another generation of players like Lampard and Gerrard, who are good in their own respects, but don't play well with each other.

*Edit* Have you seen my post in the England thread? Posted how i envision present and future England in there.

Hahah just noticed!

I wouldn't mind Caulker in there until Jones/Smalling is ready. I'm really impressed with him as a defender. Defends well and can distribute very well from the back.

And nope, I'll look for it now!

Just looked at it. Not bad! Although, I wouldn't play Walker at right back or Johnson, for that matter. Think both earn plaudits for their attacking play and are very suspect defensively.

I did like the inclusion of Shaw though. He is going to be a massive player! Think we have LB covered for another 10 years in him and Gibbs.

Not sure what the back four should look like, but I'd play the mid/attack this way.

-----Carrick--Cleverly-----
--Ox---Rooney--Wilshere-
---Welbeck/Walcott------

Wouldn't play Walcott up front or Wilshere on the left.

We'd probably play the best football we've ever played if we played:

--------Carrick---------
Cleverley-------Wilshere
Theo----Rooney-----Ox

Obviously Rooney can come deep like he tends to, and Theo can get in behind the defence. Cleverley also has experience playing on the right too so can shift there. Would be a very dynamic formation. But more importantly, it'd be with 6 attacking players that are all fairly technical.

Am I the only one who thinks Sterling is ahead of Chamberlein in development?

No way does the Ox warrant an automatic start for his country, decent prospect that he is, too inconstant at the moment.

Both raw and inconsistent, but I'd place Chamberlain above Sterling, for now. Even in a statistical sense Sterling far behind what Chamberlain was doing last season (comparing last season to account for fact Sterling's first season at top, and he's a year younger)

Ironic, as the player your trying to take the piss out of, for 65 minutes on sunday took the piss out of your entire team, funny how things work out eh.

Yes of course  nothing to do with the wide players and RVP. Oh yes I forgot when we stopped the supply line and thus RVP we dominated for half an hour. But don't let that stop you.
