Transfers and Rumours - old thread

The only clubs that have had a good transfer window are those who have splashed out silly amounts of money. IMAGINE-RM are asking for 40 million for Higuain. 20-25 is ok for him but 40 is madness. Cavani 55 million!

I am pretty sure we will end up with someone average like Rami or Agger. Financially we cant compete anymore.

We should concentrate on snapping up talent early and improve our scouting. Better yet buy Porto's scouts. 10 million for them would save us millions in the future.

I would just blood Batra -he is good but needs minutes. I find it hard to believe there is such a paucity of decent CB's. I think we are very rigid in our outlook and don't think outside the box.

I guess the main point is Agger would be 15m, when marquinhos is rumored to be at least 35m, which is way too much for a prospect.

I doubt that Liverpool will let Agger go for 15m only.

He is one of their main and most valuable players and Agger will most likely not push for a move either.

Man City are rumored to be on the verge of completing a 23 million euro deal for Pepe (MD).

23 million? I have to give credit where it is due. Madrid's board could sell milk to a cat.

Pellegrini's lifespan at City will be very short. His signings are baffling.

Hmm... Not sure whether it can be taken seriously when the source is MD, but they have been linked to him before too.

I think he will do well at City as he is a tactical genius IMO. Even average players can be turned into good ones in the perfect set up, system.

I expected him to bulk up the CM around Yaya, and less of role players like Negredo/Navas/Pepe. None of these players will win a big match. Aguero, Kompany, Hart and Yaya are the only true match winners they have.

Quickly? If we do pay what Liverpool is likely to demand(around 25m-30m) then yes.

He's not worth anything over 25, and 25 is absolute top end given his injury history and age (still not old for a defender, but old enough not to command anything above market value).

Its not about what he is worth. Its how much Liverpool value him at. They dont need to sell him as they dont need money and Agger is one of their leaders and most important players as well.

But I obviously agree with you that he is not worth anything over 25m, but when they are in a position when they dont need to sell him then they will dictate terms.

I fear us chasing Thiago Silva all summer.

I think that's what they are planning.

The Barca wants to start a war.

I don't know what Rosell is smoking and even if everything can happen because i don't know the future, i don't see how it is possible at the moment :

- Silva said he'll stay and that the barca pressuring him to go for a clash is a lost cause because he never did it and doesn't plan to do it in the future here and in his future clubs. Especially in a club like PSG that he doesn't want to leave because he's happy where he is. He said it today again actually,, it's all over the french newspapers.
- His agent said that he will stay, two times already. Once as the vox of TS himself.
- Doha doesn't want to sell him and is prepared for War as Nasser showed it two days ago.
- The french soccer laws are clear, No release clause, clubs that own a player have the last words on transfers, and contracts have to be respected. I don't remind any case where a player won any "war" on court against his club here. It's always the club that decides. If in the past the french clubs gave an impression that they always sell it's because almost all french clubs need money. Sadly for Rosell, the PSG is not one of them.

I don't know what Rosell can plan. To threaten in any way the PSG, Doha, Silva himself? TBH, if i had to fear somebody, i would fear the qataris more than the Barca. And i don't say that only as a psg fan, but I really think Rosell doesn't know what he's on about. It's not like the ancelotti/real case, and Silva is not somebody who does shit on his club and boss. The Qataris are not some clowns. And the more Rosell keeps pretending they are, the more Doha will turn their back to them.
