Our CB quest is reaching incredible heights. At this point, we have no other choice but to spit out huge money for whichever of the established CBs we're after. I'd personally go after Luiz and wouldn't mind paying over 30-35 or even more if it takes.

But is he even willing to leave Chelsea for Barca? Mou seems unwilling to let him go

Cant believe everyone making PUYOL as if he is GOD OF DEFENSE. In my opinion puyol himself is just above average but the difference is that when he plays he plays with his heart throwing everthing on the line.

It's been reported loads of times since Jose went to Chelsea that he doesn't rate Luiz or Mata .

Yes, that's true. It was also reported for weeks that PSG buying Marquinhos TOTALLY meant that they were going to sell Thiago Silva.

Now, what you have to ask yourself is 'does that make any sense?' and I don't mean 'a lot of sense', I mean 'any'. 'At all'? Mourinho just coming out of the blue with the intention of selling two players that have been regular starters with the last three managers Chelsea's had?

Mou not rating Luiz makes a lot of sense actually,he is not exactly a type of defender that Mourinho would want in his starting 11.

You've seen Jose's central defenders in the last few years ... They have to defend and defend only , no prisoners taken .
Pepe / Ramos / Albiol .

I agree that time is running out. We need to splash 35 mill and just buy David Luiz, although I highly doubt he'll go for that price.

Are there any lesser known CB's we could get? Someone that wouldn't cost more than 30 mill?

What about that Greek defender Papadopoulos?

So after all this, back to another DM converted CB ? I think still all the transfer decisions are made by Rosell/Zubi and not by the coach. Perhaps that is the reason Barca board went for a relatively unknown coach so that they can pressurize him to do whatever they want. We are doomed till 2016 election :(

Apparently linked with Omar Abdulrahaman, only seen him in the olympics In which he looked a cracking prospect. Apparently won mvp at gulf cup of nations.

Good dribbler, passer and looks a clever player for such a young age.

Papdopoulos has been linked with Liverpool but no further news so far after awhile. If we can get him it will be a good transfer but Papadopoulos seems happy in Schalke. Other than that, he is quite an arrogant player so I for dont know whether we want him.

Expected price might be 12-26 mil at least
