Way to go with your reasoning! Nkoulou was second only to T.Silva last season in Ligue1. Howedes has had numerous great seasons with Schalke. Have you even watched any of these players play?

We don't need a 4th choice. . . The point in strengthening the team doesn't actually translate to increasing the playing staff. If we need depth we can generate that internally. What we need is a real CB who was trained in that discipline. Doria,Nkolou or Howedes will suffice if you ask me.

That's the same age as Bagnack. If we're only going to sign a teenager I'd rather just give more minutes to Bagnack and Edgar lé. Doria is the best CB in the Brazilian league at 18, while Bagnack and Ie havent even proven themselves for the B team. Look at Fontas. He excelled as the leader and captain for the B team and was projected to be the new Pique. Bagnack has to convince more than even Fontas did for the B team to be considered as a serious option for the first team.

I'm going to be so sad and mad if we don't get a CB. At this point we have only Pique, Puyol, and Bartra as true CBs. One has been out of form for the majority of the past 2 seasons, the other is incredibly injury prone because he's just old, and the other is young and not really that good. Abidal was an option who could actually perform very well at CB in addition to LB but we let him go.

What surprises me most is that Neymer was a priority whereas signing CB is not !

After tolerating the ineptitude of Sanchez / Perdro and Villa we bladdy well needed Neymar a proven striker /scorer who doesn't break into a hot sweat as soon as he gets near goal .

So it is only players that the like of mancity and psg clamour to sign that are good.So the likes of mancity and psg clamouring for a player is what shows that are good. lol at that reasoning of yours

If a player good enough for the Barcelona first team is available isn't it obvious that top teams would be wanting to buy them? Not just Man City and PSG, but Barca, Madrid, Man U, Chelsea etc would all be trying to get them. Of course if that's not happening, then it's likely because of genuine doubt as to the quality of the player or because the player isn't available.

In the case of Barca there's the added problem that the player needs to have the right profile to play in a high line tiki-taka defense. The players you mention would all likely be 4th choice if they came here. Even David Luiz might end up with the same problems Alex Song did. Unfortunately it's not that easy to get players and get them to fit into the team successfully.
