I dont get why in general there us so much glory for the final penalty taker.sure its the end but in the end it matters as much at any penalty taken yet acts like its a last minute world class winning goal.

Because its often(not always) the last touch on the ball, and Ronaldo loves the attention.

Deep inside I knew this is how it was going to end. With offside-goal and on penalties with CR7 waiting for the decider - "true leader"..

Could have tried anything, even some Pinto mind games before the kick. Weird thing is he lost the shootout against Sevilla with Benfica but at least back then he dived and got near some, now at Atleti he seems like a statue in the last two shootouts.

Nah they choked. They let the inferior team win despite being on top. Missed two penalties while their opposition missed none. They were totally in control after their goal up until the end of ET and they didn't push for the winner. Almost like they were more worried about conceding more than trying to score when your opposition is playing shit.
