Yeah I think any club prefers it that way, well maybe outside of Milan and Liverpool in the 00's, I recall some fans prefering scudetto/ first pl title over another cl trophy.

Focusing on the CL is silly since there is so much luck involved. You win it by being good and lucky or just a lot better than everybody else, and I don't think we are that much better than other teams this year.

Why does Astana play in the cl rather than the asian cl? I mean even Ethiopia is closer than Astana, its a 7000 km travel for Atletico.

Because they have a portion of their territory in Europe, I am guessing.

I was wondering the same about Tel Aviv / Israel, it's not europe at all.

Kazakhstan isnt in the EU though? That might apply to turkey and Russia but Kazakhstan is clearly Asia for me.
Israel I also get as an exception since tehy would not be able to play anywhere due to death threats, but that is an exteremely rare situation for a country in the midde east.

Yes, there is a small part of Kazakhstan in Europe which makes them eligible to play here.

The "line" between Europe and Asia comes from the Ural mountainrange and it's a bit further than the border with Kazakhstan.

Same thing as with Turkey.
