Lets be fair, Messigician does the carrying, with his constant topics, links and posts, half of our posts wouldn't even be here if he didn't start it.

And my jinxing game was spot on just a couple weeks or so ago.

It's preposterous strawman tendency to suggest Barca are going Arsenal way. It's just a panic argument lads. One that RM fans also made when Ronaldo left and got boinked by Ajax in R16. Chill.

Arsenal has been 4-10th for years with a guy like Ozil as their best player. Meelan wouldn't qualify for CL for years. Barca are twice as affluent and have twice the talent these two sides did when their dynasties ended.
Will it get worse before it gets better? In all likelihood yes. But goddamn, relax

yeah arsenal or milan are crap and cant be compared with us, we have good young players with frenkie, ansu, (dembele), nico, pedri, aurajo - we just need a good coach who knows how to rebuild a team and then we will attack first spain, then europe, then the whole world like we did a few years ago.

I was wrong--on two counts. On the Valverde question I was wrong in my assessment of Messigician's position. I was wrong too on the question itself. I waged a wrongheaded anti-EV campaign for at least 3 years, mostly against Messigician.

The truth is that the last time we looked like a 'team', with a 'shape', a consistent style of play, and which delivered results, was under EV.

To be sure, it was ugly football. Almost unwatchable. I skipped many matches under his tenure because it was unsightly stuff. There is no redeeming that aspect of his tenure.

But it was effective--at least in the league. Imagine that: back then, we expected the league and demanded the CL. And that is why we sacked him, in our arrogance. Today we can only hope for the league, dream of the CL, and expect nothing.

I don't exactly miss you, mister--but I do miss having something like a proper coach who could deliver results, at least in the league.

Agree with every word you wrote down.

Just want to add that at Barca historically way of playing is AS important AS results, if not more.
And personally I side with that, that's why I hated our team under EV

Question is if he could play a different, a more aesthetically pleasing football.
Khaled implied that he could if he had prime Neymar staying put, and Verratti.
Indeed his first few games showed traces of an intention to implement good eye-pleasing football, but he abandoned the plan very soon

i was going to reply that under EV we did occasionally play aesthetic football, citing our 2016 KO vs arsenal, but my memory failed me: EV wasnt coach then

i forgot to add another thing: EV had an immaculate record in clasicos. that, too cannot be overlooked, especially considering how awful we have been in these since he left...

Yes, he was handling these well.

Although in his last Classico, RM was better.
And I think that we would be losing the league in 19/20 even with him on the bench.
The trend was clear
