Hopefully they go back to four year terms. Six years is too long.
Tomorrow, this fools thread will be closed. He really thought he can take on Laporta?Like, really.I know a quote from Pep about Messi when they discussed if Sergie Aguero is one of the best in the world:''I think Messi is number one, number two, number three in the world.Sergio? He is one of the best, from the rest''. Is the same with Laporta. He is number one, number two and number three in the best presidents of this club has ever had.No one come close. And he deserves a chance to save the club, once again.Or do you think Barcelona before he came was considered the mamoth that is today? No.We were the laughing stock of Madrid, who stole us or best player-Figo,and they bitchslapped us in every match possible. Now we have an enititled fanbase, but we have it mostly because of him.
4 years term, with 3 terms max will be perfect
Laporta wasn't invincible, proved by 2015.
If anything, I am more thankful to him as he forced Laporta to get his shit together this time.
What is the logical reason for why you would want a limit here? What if a guy is a great president and gets elected each term? What would be the problem?
Estimations before elections gave Laporta as the winner with a considerably higher margin is it not?
Given Font kinda tanked his own campaign and how he had to go up against Laporta, getting 33% of the vote in the first exit poll is a very strong result for him.
He'll be back in six years, as a president or in some other capacity.
Yeah was thinking the same. Going by news and opinions on the internet it seemed he was very much out of favour but I guess opinion of him is fairly high in Barcelona.
Font and his team played a major role in ousting Barto's board before they could do any more damage and cover up their crimes. Most of those vote of no confidence ballots came from Font and his team making their offices available and working for it. His Xavi obsession and poor PR campaign and poor translations of tweets here make him look like an idiot, but he's not.
I did initially support him myself.
He need to improve his media and PR team/plan/whatever it was.
He's respected locally because unlike most of the people memeing him he has worked to help turn the club around.
I liked him myself, he was on a BBC podcast with Guillem Balague and had some very interesting ideas for the club, seems very switched on. He seemed prepared until Laporta entered the fray and then his answers about Koeman working under Xavi.
Goes back to your point about media/PR though. Was almost too transparent and needed more diplomatic/guarded answers.
