I'd take David over Haaland and this fella anyway. We're still struggling financially. Both Haaland and this guy will be expensive.
Haaland is poor in b8g games and this guy is an unknown outside the Portuguese league.
If David doesn't work out we go for someone else. Finances will hopefully be sorted by than plus some other players will inevitably come up.
The days of bonafide superstars like Villa, R9 ,Rivaldo, Suarez, Neymar etc coming are over.
We need to scout better and recruit better cause alit of other clubs simply have more money.

Taking a starting striker from Sporting in Portugal is a big risk. That league is really easy to score in and he's also playing for the best team in it, decent strikers will rack up tons of goals.

For example, Seferovic scored like 30 in one league season for Benfica.

Even if this guy turns out to be great the fee he will cost considering his lack of resume is too big of a risk for us to take.

The one thing I would say is his physicality and endless running does suit Flick's Barca, but as mentioned above, I don't think its safe to take such a big risk without guaranteed 20 goals a league season.

I am not conviced by David to be starter in Barcelona.
He isn't and he probably won't be a starter for us as #9. But I would like him as backup and also play him as second striker playing LW'ish IF we got somebody like Cucurella on LB.

Gyö is slowly emerging as the real deal, this season he has taken another step forward and is now carrying the Swedish NT. BUT, for the price Sporting will ask he'll indeed be a very big risk... I would take a chance on him for 60ish million though. He's not only banging in goals, he looks clumsy af but is actually quite technical - he is also a very intelligent player, his passing and vision is also not far off.

This thing about leagues like portugese and French leagues being inferior is just BS , or at least not to the degree fans think . Barca bought Deco from portugese league and was immediately a monster of a midfielder in laliga.

Deco was a double Treble winner the season signed with the CL and the UEFA Cup winner the season before.

Absolutely proven at all levels prior to signing. Different times but that Porto side was elite, and Deco was the best player in it.

True, but Sporting is not doing too shabby in CL this season and is going for a comfortable second league win in a row. Can’t be compared to Deco’s Porto, but Gyö’s Sporting is doing more than alright - let’s see how far they will actually go in CL, they just kicked City’s ass 🙌

City have been poor this season. At least by their standards.
