Nah, Vermaelen is OK though. But Kompany is just more talented + he is actually showing it on the pitch this year, defensively.

Kompany would be expensive, but no more than a Chygrynskiy or someone. And it is City, you can get anything on the cheap if we give some overrated youth product in return. Commodities!
He's ONLY 24, got a shitload of experience and maturity for that age, ... What Bruno Alves, A portuguese bull with a gay haircut and retirement age, has to do with it, no idea.

It would be a good signing I agree. I'm warning you though, it's an emotional roller coaster having your NT's best player at your club, especially when/if he start smack talking your coach or doesn't preform as well as you would have hoped.

It's OK. He is for example not in my top 3 favourite players for the national team.
Plus he has brains (like how he dissed Hamburg during the Olympic games) and keeps his cool, so he is not likely to stir shit without a cause.
Him being Belgian is just a small part really. It's more about having "followed" him and seeing him reach what he does now, knowing how he is, how he plays, ... the same as with the cantera players we follow, you know?

How can Barcelona get players off City? :S
This is not a Cesc Fabregas (Spanish Barcelona local lad) scenario, money talks and if Real Madrid and Barcelona put money together to put in a joint bid to share the player for Kompany (or any of our players) we'd laugh in thier faces.
Money talks and City are top of the food chain, come next season we should also have Champions League football to offer players and when we get that Barcelona should be concerned about hanging onto their players around us, think everyone knows we are going to win the Premier League within the next 3 years and next season we will probably be the strongest side (certainly the strongest squad) in Europe, can't wait tbh, 35 years of hurt will soon be over

Don't count your eggs before they hatch. And Barca will still have a greater attraction due to the greater history of that we have.

only players that 1) a certain select few clubs really aren't interested can man city get and that will continue to be the case for years to come
2) players that are in it for the money alone, which means none of the true top players in the world, as they are all ready millionaires 30x over
