Loaned out, that would be ridiculous.
Sure, he is only a talent, but are we supposed to go into this season with basically no attackers?
Its pretty clear at this point that we wont buy anyone good.

Lewandowski or Kane are surely still possible? Or even they would be too expensive for Flo?

Lewandowski is totally out of the question. Bayern had said repeatedly that he is not for sale. When Bayern put their feet down you can't do a thing. No release clause, no nothing.

Plus, I don't think Perez who has a teenager fetish would go for a 30-year-old striker these days.

Seriously? Didn't he cost something like 60m or so?

40M
And he is just unproven 18 years old talent from Brazil regardless his price. RM is probably too much for him atm and it is probably better for him to take it step by step either in Castilla with minutes in Liga or to be loaned and it seems they have chosen the former

Yup. Makes sense. It's a normal policy for young talent coming in from abroad. One year of "induction" in the capital getting used to the surroundings, the people and the club without giving them much hope for minutes and a significant role. It's not what they should learn first. Then from 2nd year onwards it's over to them really. They go on loan or get sold with buyback if the club feels they're not up to it.

Vini's price is pretty much just a side effect of the market. Can't think of one player of that age who cost the similar amount of money. Maybe Martial.

Sounds to me like maybe they've made a mistake not letting him play in Brazil a couple more years. Brasileiro is a better league than Spanish 3rd division.

Nah. If we bought him, we need to show him what he aims to be a part of instead of sending a message that we just paid big money for him and we'll let him play and develop elsewhere with no attachment to the club other than through a piece of paper. Casemiro went through the same. Ceballos and Theo too. It's just a way of nurturing dedication of players who didn't develop at Castilla.

Casemiro grew a lot at Porto, playing CL football in a very good league for young talents. That's a lot different than playing in the 3rd Spanish league. I thought he was brought up as a new star, not as a raw talent that needs to play for the B team.

He played for the B-team for a year too. He was in rotation behind Alonso, Khedira, Modrić, Di Maria and Isco and played fringe minutes in games that were already won in 90% of cases.

He's no world beater of Mbappe status. You know well media like to peddle the narrative that Madrid have spent mad money for no reason without critically assessing what the kid could grow into and at what pace it can or should happen. When you think about it, he's an 18-year old. And for every one of these players who have never experienced the club of this stature from the inside it's the same. You'd struggle to name one talent within Castilla age range (under 23) who wasn't a regular in 3rd division and/or getting only fringe minutes for the first team. It's a standard that worked ever since we abandoned the 2002-2010 ways of dealing with talent where Ramos and Marcelo would waltz into the team as 19 year olds, get rinsed by players 20x more prepared mentally and it wouldn't necessarily just be Barca. Mainly down to a lot of good that Jose Angel Sanchez and Zidane duo did as the backroom staff.

I remember there was even a lot of talk about Porto signing Casemiro to a perma deal before Benitez stepped in and wanted him in his squad

You lot would have most likely sold him had it not been for Benitez Wolfe.

I don't remember anything as such really. Benitez sure favoured him (of course he would, the old fart) and he even got Perez to sign Kova convincing him he'd be a better pivot than Modrić, since season before lack of DM was the only major problem. Plus Bale and his injuries.

Still, don't think many players between 18-22 would be allowed to leave on loan straight away. Best to give them a taste of what life in Madrid is like and then have them pursue the ultimate goal.
