I'd rate Rooney at the same level as Ronaldo as well... In fact if some one asks me to choose one of Rooney & Ronaldo for our LW, I'd choose Rooney. He's a better player to accommodate in a TEAM, might not dribble as much as Ronaldo but he's technically not poor either & most importantly he puts lot more efforts than Ronaldo, who'll have to face a Messi or an Ibrahimovic (who are claimed by public to be better players!) to try and bust his ass!! Also Rooney is very thinking footballer

What rubbish. And you did post praising Messi for his 3rd goal instead of explaining to everyone that his hat trick was entirely unspectacular and unworthy of discussion.

overrated in the sense, that the english press would have you believe he is on the level of messi and ronaldo, which for me he isn't.

he is too streaky of a player, scores 2 and 3 in certain games, then goes 4/5 games without scoring, needs to spread out his brilliance a bit more for me.

But in the sense that you think he's overrated in England he is similarly underrated on the continent.

Someone earlier posted that Rooney isn't gifted technically. I'm sorry, but what bull****. Someone with that opinion has obviously never seen him play.

His first touch is impeccable and his vision is only matched by a handful of players in world football.
