the team played selfish and poorly with messi in the team. what did they really expect.

if that happened tata would be sacked AND messi would be blamed for not carrying the team. the last time arg didn't qualify for the wc was in 1970, when only 16 teams played in the tournament. This would cause a massive outcry. i'm not argentinean, but i believe that, right now, messi's reputation in his home country is quite good, and that would change for way worse if the albiceleste didn't qualify.
