We have sunk like the titanic

3. Availability of players
The current Barca squad lacks in depth and quality when compared to the other elite clubs.
We don't have a reliable goal-scorer who can convert chances. With Pique past his prime, we don't have a reliable CB who can lead the defensive line.
Also, the high frequency of injuries, which might or might not have something to do with the lack of proper physical preparation, doesn't help our case.
Players like Ansu, Alba, Dembele, Aguero, who can create & finish chances in final 3rd, missed at least 50% of our games so far

4. Tactical Inefficiencies
There are a few matches where Koeman's Barca lost due to poor finishing, however there are matches where Koeman got tactically outclassed by the opponents.
This also has to do with the lack of communication and coordination among the players.

Koeman has underscored many times that he wants his players to stretch the pitch vertically and horizontally.
However, he has chosen Frenkie/Gavi (interiors) over Demir (winger) to play on the right wing in the past 2 matches.
Against Atletico, Koeman wanted the fullbacks high up the pitch, since Frenkie and Gavi were playing as 'Inside Forwards' in the half-spaces. This left the flanks wide open and it made Pique-Araujo prone to counters.
His in-game management hasn't been great either.
For example, against Benefica, Frenkie was constantly exploiting the spaces Luuk de Jong vacated by dragging the opposition CBs and he was the most threatening player off-the-ball.
He was pulled back to play as a CB at 33rd minute.

The players aren't exculpable either.
There have been constant miscommunications among the players.
While some of the players are pressing, the others aren't participating in covering them, leaving lots of space for the opposition to thrive.

End of Thread.

2. Mental Fatigue
Football is a tough sport mentally.
The ability to perform under pressure, to bounce back from defeats and injuries, to stay constantly motivated are some of the many mentally demanding tasks that affect a players performance.
Barca has been a victim of multiple UCL knock-out game thrashings in these past years.
Roma 3-0
Liverpool 4-0
Bayern 8-2
PSG 4-1
We still have the same defensive core since Roma and the very same defensive core are our current captains.
These constant heavy loses in one of the biggest stages of world football will surely cause mental fatigue in our players.
While other clubs have been taking advantage of Sports Psychology, FC Barcelona do not employ a Sports Psychologist.
It is quite contrasting that FCB promotes Sports Psychology and offers a certificate course on the same through Barca Innovation Hub.
At the same time, it has a first team head coach who doesn't believe in psychologists and mental health

Primary issue is not that Barca does not have psychologists. Primary issue is that Barca club culture allows players to be comfortable and complacent. If we created a tougher environment those softies would have been forced to get tough earlier or weeded out earlier.

100% agree

There is psychology on different levels: i) individual consultation with an expert (which the thread point to)
ii) team psychology based on science (how to create an environment where soft mentality can vanish)

It's nice to put an analysis from twitter here, but I didn't like the analysis.

1) Is an easy thing to blame, but I am not convinced by some comments from these people. It all looks very amateurish to me.
2) Well it could have its use, Barcelona have had psychological problems especially in the CL, and Koeman made a foolish remark there, but I still don't think it's a crucial factor.
3) Barcelona have (and in particular had when Messi was still there) a great squad, much better than how they performed the last years.
4) Yes Koeman is a bad manager and seemingly doesn't know shit. This one is true.

What is needed is a coherent vision, preferrably from the one that has ran through the club and its youth system for so long, and a manager able to motivate and develop (meaning able to look further than result etc but look for correct habits for his vision). If not that vision, then another vision and a lot of money and scouting to get the right players for that vision. The third option is EVEN MORE money and to just buy the best players in front of the eyes of Qatar, Saudi, Soviet oligarchs etc and hope for the best.
