Unless we finish outside top 4 or get absolutely humiliated in the CL, still think Xavi will remain as Barca coach for next season even if he doesn't win any trophies.

His contract runs out in 2025 right? With an option for an additional year.

He won't stay as a lame duck coach I think so they'll either have to trigger that option this summer or negotiate another renewal.

Pimienta is doing a good job, he knows the club and the players but he probably wouldn't return as long as Laporta is here right?

I think there's a very good chance he is getting replaced in the summer.

I also think there's a very good chance we're clueless enough to hire Marquez who might end up being a downgrade on Xavi.

Don't get your hopes high for De Zerbi, Flick, Nagelsmann, Michel, etc.

In summer? Doubt it tbh.
Laporta has kind off paid his debt, as Marquez was one of his main supporters during elections, along Deco (SD), Sergi Barjuan (former B coach) and even Jordi Crujiff and Xavi who has kind of remained neutral which hurt Font's campaign.
I think this makes him more free with his moves in the next summer, and tbh Marquez while being a decent B team coach he didn't convince enough to get first team job right away, he needs to do like Lucho and Pieminta and take a step elsewhere.
We were already linked with Michel last season as it was reported the club sees him as a future first team coach, we were also said to be high on Alguacil. Naggelsman won't leave NT for us and I think Flick won't have support after that NT disaster.
One of the main advantage of former players is they bring calmness to socios and have their support, but that won't be the case with a guy like Marquez tbh, just like it wasn't with Sergi and even Koeman. They have left way too long ago and aren't really that much of club legends but rather afterthoughts (well, Koeman was club legend, 2 decades prior)

My guess it will be a Liga coach, an EV type of hire

You would have to seriously consider Michel considering what he is achieving with Girona.

Sure they have given him a great team with alot of individual attacking talent, but the fact they are still within the top two and reached the Copa quarters is huge.

I'm not sure if he is genuinely going to be an elite long term coach like Emery or someone like Juande Ramos who was good but more about being in the right place at the right time, with the project being built behind him. Everything after Sevilla was a failure for him.

Time will tell.

Michel will be great at any club if given recruiting input. Girona are getting better as witnessed yesterday. None of them have any fear of playing out the back from their own box with 'risky' intricate passing mind you unlike Barca. Michel could probably trump Pep if given less resources and a 3rd to 6th ranked league club.
