I read Valverde's wife want him to stay put. Let's hope she wins this battle.

So, we got some news. Eusebio ruled himself out and Sampaoli said "he's tied to Sevilla 'til death".

tss tss why did my favorite chihuaha had to go and say something like that. Now, Barto will have to order a hit on him, trap his soul with a Tsimshian bone and bind it a skull
We get him for free + Refs won't kick him out of the sidelines anymore hehe

Let's assume that Sampaoli is unavailable for a moment.

People from this forum, whom would you want then?
If we can't get him, what then? Valverde, Koeman, Unzue, coaches who are tied with other clubs like Alegri, Klopp etc?

Wenger when asked if he wants to become Barcelona's next manager : "Non, ma préférence est toujours la même et restera la même. Je ne cherche pas un autre club, un autre travail ou d’autres personnes"

Traduction : "No, my preference is and will always be the same . I'm not looking for another club, another job or other persons (to work with)"

They lost and they are in eight place now while Sampaoli is doing MUCH better with Sevilla.

You also have to consider teams that both have at their disposal. It's really hard for Bilbao to do what they are doing with only Basque players. People often foget that. There are only so many good Basque players they can choose from and not all of them don't even play for Athletic because they've left for better teams like Javi Martinez and Llorente or because they play for their archrivals Sociedad who don't want to sell players like Illarra or Oyarzabal to Bilbao (and players themselves probably wouldn't want to join either because they have grown up at Sociedad).

I don't know why so many people don't like Valverde. Obviously I prefer Sampaoli and some other coaches to him as well but it wouldn't be the end of the world if he'd become our new coach. He's a good coach whose hands are very tied with Bilbao's transfer policy. So while I hope we get Sampaoli I also won't be disappointed if we end up with Valverde and will give him a chance.

I would be ok with Valverde, Eusebio (although he said yesterday he's not interested in joining us I think he wouldn't reject us if we offer him a job), Oscar Garcia, Marcelino or even Berizzo (but the later two were not considered as a realistic choice so I doubt we are looking at them). Would also consider Sarri but I don't think he's a realistic option either.

I don't like Koeman's coaching style and I don't believe in Unzue so don't want either of them.

I think Sampaoli said he's with Sevilla until death this season and what the future holds is not relevant right now.

I would prefer Valverde from the coaches above.

As of now MD and Sport claiming the two front-runners are Valverde and Unzue so....

Google translator is poor, so I am not sure whether they are considering Martinez-Henry as a duo or as a single manager?
They are also mentioning Cocu and Oscar Martinez.

I would personally be interested in Cocu also.
He won 2 titles with Psv in 2 seasons.
Also, he was a smarter footballer than Lucho (they played together).
As a footballer he played for Barca and for a Dutch NT team as a central defender, full back, defensive midfielder, central midfielder, winger and a striker.
Maybe he understands movements, requirements and pros and cons for each position very well

Mentally he was a calm, hard working guy. Rarely losing head or getting into fights.
Played 6 seasons and 205 matches for Barca.

If Koeman is such a bad fit as majority say, and Sampaoli won't come, I would personally rather have Cocu than Valverde/Unzue/Eusebio.

Thing with Bilbao is they are fanatics and they are on auto-motivate (just coined it) mode.
Barca's biggest problem is just that so it's a completely different enviroment here for Valverde.

In the tied with other clubs dept., I'd be keen on Thomas Tuchel. He's smart and innovative + he's really good at recognising and signing talents. Not gonna happen though. He's happy at B.D.

between Unz & Valv, the latter.
