Who would thrive better in the Xavi role: Thiago or Samper?

Thiago, sampler is more like pirlo very static in the way he plays, xavi moves all over the pitch.

Wilfrid Kaptoum is also in with a chance.

Very much agreed, Samper feels more like Pirlo, walking around carelessly, letting his hair fall gracefully. A bit like Busquets too.

No, not any young guy. There is only one player who could step into Xavi's role. He's near the end of his career, but it would have to be Pirlo.

Seriously though, I can't really say anything right now. Samper seems to be static - and I agree - because he's only played as a DM so far, hasn't he? So, it remains to be seen whether he can perform as a controlling playmaker covering large areas of the pitch and how well he copes with the physicality in the higher divisions. Therefore, while both may be able to play in the 'Xavi' role, it's still unclear as to who will manage to perform better in the said role.

No, I disagree. When the Dream Team was in decline, how many of us cules thought that we would be able to watch a team as great, if not greater? How many of us thought that the club would get a coach like Pep after Cruyffs' Dream Team was so successful? The same can be said of the players who've worn the jersey. After Kubala left, how many cules thought that they would have a player like Cruyff or a Laudrup or a Roanldinho or a Xavi or an Iniesta in their team? So, why is it unreal to think of someone to replace Xavi or anyone else?

+1.for thiago i have the feeling(from his last year performances) that he will never do what pep had planned for him.i believe he dont have the mind needed,so i can see him shine in other roles like Dons or cesc's maybe.the other guy,samper,never seen him

True. This team will be a lot different without Xavi, what he does will never be replicated. It's probable the team will not be as good. This year, there is a huge difference between when he is on the field and when he is being rested. Tito and Pep have had good reason to overplay this guy for the last couple years.
