They've both won two league titles and a champions league. Plus Flick was instrumental behind Germany's WC success in 2014 already.

Germany will definitely be contenders under him.

Still don't understand why Flick left club level management to helm a good but not generational Germany squad.

Maybe he does truly believe he can take them to the big prize.

He and Hasan Salihamidzic, their SD, basically ended up being a "It's him or me" type of situation.

They couldn't co-exist and Bayern didn't want to get rid of Hasan and tried to sort things out between them so Flick got tired of it and told them he was done. Then Germany jumped in and dumped Low for him quickly lol.

Flick also been with the German NT setup most of his career. Maybe that was a dream job for him, or the only job he'd take unless he stayed at Bayern or got a comparable job to the Bayern one which wasn't available at the time.
