lol perhaps.

i don't think we can call these international matches 'Friendlies' anymore. there's really nothing friendly about them.

It's a very long season... I think FIFA should think better that question specially in WC year... too many games (champ, cups, friendly, european cups, national matches...)...

More one... now it's Robben... we almost have a complete team with injured players...

Players are getting injured every day, week and month. I can't understand what's so strange about this particular moment.

Stupid friendlys that should not be played so close to the world cup, against teams that are not in the world cup anyway, so they do not take it easy and pull out of tackles and still think they have to win

Mate, we are at few days of WC... in last three weeks, how many good players came injured? Injured unfortunately is norma... but at this level just before a WC... that means only one thing: too many matches in a WC season...

Robben is always injured (let alone when he tried a stupid trick when winning 6-1 ... the ball didn't even reach his teammate ), Ferdinand is old and had a season full of injuries, Drogba got unlucky (how many times do you hear of a fractured elbow in football?), Essien has been injured for way much longer Ballack due to a bad tackle, ....

I don't see the fuzz.

Also Bosingwa's been injured all season (to add to top of that), so all of these injuries have rational explanations.
Most of the players have been injured during the season as they would regularly, it is nothign to do with the WC or a long season or anything, not yet at least.

You can't expect a team of players to gel and combine well after a domestic season apart from each other. Friendlies are absolutely necessary for the national teams, they are by no means unnecessary or "stupid".
Would you rather watch a World Cup where the pass completion rate was under 50% and there were like 5 goals scored?
I thought not.

theres some truth in that beefy but remember these players have been playing in qualifiers and friendlies together if they cant play together 2 weeks before the world cup starts then another friendly aint gonna help them...i just think that playing friendlies the week of the world cup is counter productive... especially as Psychaz says against teams with no world cup to worry about themselves
