What will be better "Giuly's age" or "Pedro's age"? FFS.

:hmm:

"FFS" do you always only read the first paragraphs in posts? "Eto`s age meaning individual or club awards won while he was playing at Barca"

No way. Two champions leagues, back to back league titles, the double, smashing madrid 2-6 at home, countless records broken, and not to mention the small matter of the triplet. I dont think we'll ever have a more successful 5 years in our history.

By the way i liked your poll options!

U mean in ur lifetime? :D

I'm sorry, did the PTC guru just say no way? I don't like that one bit! we freakin' can top it!

it's unlikely, but we may do. we have a truly immense squad. we may never do the triplet again (the luck needed is huge) but we could see more doubles and CL's for sure. have some faith, man!

it's wrong to call it the eto'o age, though, when the team was first ronaldinho's and then messi's. during the period when neither had full claim of the team (07/08) we were poor and won nothing at all.

+1

Here is wht i think...

Ibra's Success is terms of goals scored, silverware, trophies won etc aint just down to him. Football is a team sport as such, a player's success depends on the form of his team mates, luck, his manager's tactics and various other factors, which was also true in Eto'os case.
So, if everything falls in place & works out well, his 5yrs at the club cud turn out to be better thn the cameroonian's. But it all depends on a lot of variables.

btw, I liked ur 5th poll option. :D

How can neither have full claim to the team when both played in 06/07 and 07/08?

Immense squad? Immense team but immense squad? that is questionable sorry it is. Without doubt your first team is the best in the world but the squad is a whole different matter.

When there are soooo many quality teams in europe I do not fore see any team dominating that competition, but seeing as Barca never have dominated europe before, perhaps this is their era to dominate european football?

I agree wit zanela and metaphysical views. and edward you are rite, we don't have a squad deep enough. first team will need this depth in the long run.

I say sign Cesc (Modric) and Chigrinsky

it was ronaldinho's team in 06/07 and he almost single-handedly dragged us to a spanish supercup and what should have been a league title.

in 07/08 ronaldinho was injured and barely played and messi was injured and played only intermittently. ronaldinho had effectively passed the reigns over to messi but he was not yet in a position to take them up. hence the suck.

oh I'm sorry it must have been another teams youth players that comprehensively outplayed spurs in their first and second pre-season games of the year, then.

our first XI is the best in the world and our backups, while light in current ability, contain a large amount of canteranos the majority of whom look very very promising.

never underestimate the power of the catalan conveyor belt. who'd heard of busquets a year ago? who'd heard of fontas before this pre-season tour? maybe jamrock and adam, but I'd be surprised if anyone else had.

you're right that we've never dominated europe and we COULD now, but, I meant more that with the squad we've got now and will build on as years pass we will be there or thereabouts amongst potential CL winners for a while yet.

I think you might be underestimating the Cules on the forum. We had good deal of guys that followed Barca youth players last season.

love it when people overreact and overestimate a player because he just happen to play for Barca.. same way it happened with Caceres .. or should i say your ex-Caceres who was the bees knees for some

You serious? Remember Muniesa's debut? As maz and I were saying, definitely the best individual performance from 1970 onwards in FCB's history :) As for Cáceres, I never said he was good & I don't think he'll improve much.

Muniesa debut means nothing.. a guy come & play for 20 min or less and suddenly he is the best in Barca history give me a fucking a break.. what you are saying is a cheerleader stuff Steve i expected much better from u

if a Madrid fan comes out and say something like this the entire forum will be laughing out loud.. for example Palanca had a MUCH Better debut in the Classico (a game that mattered ) and vs a well known int. defender.. not a single Madridista overreacted like this (and Maz remember from the other forum ) ..
he is definitely not the best individual performance fromthe 70's onwards .. jesus christ u lot are tripping and have no recollect of your history .. Messi debut was the best i've seen for a Barca product in recent history .. u lost the plot here

i'll just sit in the corner and continue laughing
