Andy Murray wouldn't have got such crowd support in Wimbledon if that was the case . Animosity between Irish and English people is something though . At least from what i heard from those who are residing in Uk

The animosity is mostly between ROI identified Irish people living in the North. British identified people in the North are pretty much English arse lickers (not in sport though, theres healthy rivalry there)
