BTW I feel like a sweeper keeper comes out of his box in that second goal for Argentina and clears the ball. That's why (and also due to ball-playing skills) a good sweeper is better for the modern game than a good on-the-line goalkeeper like Lloris or De Gea

Finally Messi did it.
The whole fucking tourney he was dragging this team. Only Di Maria as his copilot... Martinez did his share of pens taking.
I am so fucking happy for him. He deserved this WC title. To make it as a final golden trophy in his legacy. To end all that shit that he wasn't good when it counted without "Xavi and Iniesta". He pulled this bunch of "thugs" to the WC title.
But one thing, nothing to do with Messi.
As a fan who watched 90% of matches.
This WC was so fucked up with this refs and var and pens and tones of shit that refs fucked...
Worst WC for refs after that "legendary" 2002 Korea:Italy game.
This is a way that football doesn't want to go. This is the VAR at it's worst. Lot's of teams were really affected with errors from refs and var was silent when he was needed. Not to mention offsides etc.

Still thinking I'm dreaming guys, this is the most beautiful rendemption I've seen in sports history. Yes, I was pessimistic and said I didn't have faith, because after being heart broken after 2014 final, this was my way of coping if Argentina lost again.

Var didn't review the whole action leading up to the penalty and that is a clear handball. Improvements will be made, it's getting better.
