Xavi Hernández

Weird rumor that Xavi want Messi to join United with him.
Maybe not so weird? Even 37 year old Messi will instantly elevate their team massively.

I guess the only problem is that he might unnecessarily hurt his legacy if he goes there and happens to have a bad season with United, he might not have the desire to play top level football anymore.

Where did you read this btw?

Seeing Messi in a Man United shirt, scoring goals for them at Old Trafford, would be absolutely repulsive

You also know they would boast about being the only club ever to have both Ronaldo and Messi play for them. They hold on to stuff like that.

Mad Utd hate us almost as much as Madrid, if he doesn't hit the ground running, they will turn on him.

But I don't see this happening,maybe I'm wrong

Aye I think there's more chance of one of us on here dating Ana De Armas, but I was speaking hypothetically.

Man UTD will give him copious amounts of money and if hindsight of his Barcelona tenure, he will know how to spend it unlike Tin Hat.

Whether he gets the best out of it is another question. But I reckon he will get them believing in themselves, play turgid stuff and 1-0 themselves up the table.

Can't do much worse than Tin Hat who has gone from 3rd, to 8th to currently 14th in a season by season consistent downward trajectory.

Other thing is I wonder want team would he bring. Obviously Oscar, but let's see if he is open to improving the rest of his staff rather than the Qatari stars bros. If we learned anything from Pep, it's that what he demanded at Barcelona was way more egotistical than what he demanded at Bayern and City.
Tbf Xavi's signings here were much better than Ten Hag's signings at United.

However, the question is, how much of United's transfer business issues are because of the wrong targets, or a lack of pull? Here, Xavi brought Raphinha, Lewa, Kounde, Gundogan etc, but at United, I really doubt they will be able to attract such players. I think they were also in for Raphinha but he ended here, and then they went for Antony who is of course much worse.

So he will have much more money, but will have to aim a little lower in terms of how ambitious he can be with the targets. Therefore the talent ID and scouting will have to be a little more important and they still might have to overpay to get players he wants.

Xavi also I think has a certain pull of his own and players might be excited to join the rebuild so that would help.

True. Many uncertainties. But United will fix it and make it certain by having Southgate. That way you won't have to wonder if the manager can increase the pull of the club in the attempt to sign some players.

EtH made the mistake of abandoning his philosophy for the kick and run
Xavi should take the job, this is his last chance to coach a huge club. I don't see it at Real or Bayern and Barca is over for him. Maybe he expects the job at City but it will be a more harder one.

If this is true I'm only worried that his legacy as a coach will be further damaged to the point where there's no fixing it. I wish him all the best for what he has given to this club, same as with Pep. dont care if he's managing United or any other club as long as he's not competing against Barca. And to be frank, I think I have other English clubs that I dislike more.

Just saw it from a page full of bet ads. Bs fake rumor btw.

A focused Messi would still dominate in Europe but no way he will leave his current life. He knows his time is up.
