Yes, but he's also at some fault. He started the whole drama announcing he's leaving out of emotions. It was very unprofessional. Then after confirming he stays, he starts talking about problems, which sound like excuses for the next season. Don't forget he drags his useless brother with him. Maybe a good co trainer could have given him valuable advice during training and games.
Also his attitude in games. He collected more cards this season than Ramos in his prime. Xavi is way too emotional. So yeah, Laporta's behaviour towards another legend is very shameful, but Xavi played his part as well. No one looks good in this.
