People are overreacting about the sub as they think it had major influence over goal conceded.

No they are saying it is poor sub as FDJ best midfielder and leaves Barca more open for those type of balls over top and weakness in area of team.

The goal is on Garcia but horrendous substitution.

My biggest disappointment with XAvi thus far has PARADOXICALLY nothing to do with tactics.

It's his horrible PERSONEL selection and management.

The main theme is well-known: HOW on earth are all AMIGOS playing all the minutes possible. Alba's sub tonight is the 1st time I have seen him subbing out an Amigo when there is still time left and he is not injured

But let's say we expected that from Xavi.
Then, look at this from tonight:

1) HOW ON EARTH is Gavi subbed, and Pedri stays on after the performance we saw?
2) HOW ON EARTH does Ferran stay ON THE WHOLE GAME with the performance we saw?
3) HOW ON EARTH is FDJ Gavi and Adama always the first to go out, and Ferran the last to go out IRRESPETIVE of performance ???

OK, this is beyond his friendship with the Amigos.
The guy promised MERITOcRACY. (Remember Xavi's rules?)
Where the FUCK is meritocracy is he has permanently a soft spot for certain players???

Did you see the piece of paper that Nico passed to Busquets. Then he is there with frigging Pique straight after reading the paper through together. That one action tells you enough that these two won't ever get subbed. Busquets is the brains of Xavi on the pitch and Pique is the leader.

To be fair to Pique he was having a good game, even if it was obvious he was losing his head about 15 minutes before the sending off.

His subs didn't cause the call, that goal was all down to Garcia and he didn't really have much of a choice but to put him on after the injury.

Shows strength of character if he does go and risk it for a biscuit. Lots of rookie coaches are scared to and try to err on side of caution.
Barca aren't having huge issues scoring goals or getting chances. Just gotta get on good run of results by making these decisions and reap rewards. But he's probably too chicken to try.

If that's the case, just move team about and play who is most up for it and build around those. Not an old ass pivot without whom it allegedly doesn't work. Just too pussy to even try and gamble, make it known you're not married to your beliefs, and in a scenario where team will be off the alleged balance as Pique missing anyway.
Go for it once, see if works, and work from there

Nah dont think it is cowardice on Busquets or he even has a doubt in his mind about him to even get to that point of being scared to make another decision.
