Xavi was always a class Footballer but from 2008, he got to play in the perfect system for his abilities. He's one of the greatest midfielder in history for that template and style of Football.

Xavi played for arguably the greatest club team of all time in Barcelona's golden era. Xavi played in one of the most dominant national teams ever in Spain's golden era. In a style of play that was absolutely perfect and tailor-made for his strengths and weaknesses. Xavi was the heartbeat of that tiki taka total Football possession based system.

He has always been arrogant and holier-than-thou about style of play as a player(until he became a manager who can't coach anything close to that style of play).

Why is it so tough for people to grasp why this guy reacts so poorly to adversity?

It's like a super rich kid who has grown up in wealth having to live in a subpar apartment one day.

Xavi ain't used to adversity. He has no clue what it feels like.

PS: I love Xavi as a player and admit that he was the most important player of Barca and Spain in that golden era for both. Note that I said most important not the best. Messi was the best at Barca. Xavi was the best and most important for Spain. Just clarifying before Messi's fans start crying.

Xavi faced a lot of adversity in the early 2000s

.
He wants to be congratulated for qualifying in a group where the competition for 2nd place is Shakhtar Donetsk.

We've actually become a circus, it is painful to see how low his standards are in Europe these days.

Saw that. Complained to the press how nobody congratulated him on qualifying.

Level of delusion... Worst thing is; we are playing bad. It's not like "results will come, keep doing what you're doing" kind a thing.
Also, we had an easy group in CL and worse still: we had an easiest schedule for the start of La Liga in years.

He seems rattled in every press conference even though the press have been very soft on him. Can't remember a Barca manager get less criticism than him even while having bad results.

Barca had run of the mill managers :Tata, Tito, Roura, Setien, Valverde, Xavi...

How Madrid managed to win 3 CL consecutively ? They were lost in La liga but won the CL from 2016 to 2018. They dont have Arab money btw.

PS: another CL again in 2022.
They won those 3 consecutive CL trophies by being clutch in key moments, being very good individually but they wouldn't have managed to do so without refereeing help when they need it the most and in key difficult moments. The Bayern theft at Bernabeu stands out with Kassai the referee and the linesman who helped them massively. Cakir, Kuipers, Oliver or Rocchi were other referees that favored them back in the day.

And it wasn't a coincidence they won 4 out of 5 CL trophies in the last 5 years without VAR in CL being pretty much every year surrounded by refereeing scandals which always benefited them more than their opponents. By comparison they've only managed to win 1 out of 5 CL in the first 5 years with VAR in CL and that one was such a lucky win that Chelsea winning it by sheer luck in 2012 looks like a joke.

Xavi trying to foster an underdog mentality, which obviously you can't do at a club the size of Barcelona. Not with the investment he has had compared to his predesessor.

Simeone has that luxury because he's at the 2nd team of Madrid and come in a period of absolute dominance by Messinaldo.

But then even he has had to play more attractive football in recent years.

Xavi should use these embarrassing comments as a way to fuel the players and turn this around. Then leave after next season as a boss. Having won multiple titles at the club.

Moaning about them is the wrong approach. You just have to focus on managing the team, and don't listen to the bullshit. Pep knew how fickle and toxic the club is, made a name for himself and walked away, probably vouching to himself to never come back.

Just be a leader and paddle through all the shit. It's just the manager and the players that matter.

"On the day of the Atlético game we were a ten and now we're a zero. We're not going to give up at the first corner. An unreality is being told. It creates a tension that's unnecessary for us. We're in the race to win four titles."

Call me square. But I guess, and this is just assumption. But shipping 4 goals at home to Girona, and then 3 goals away a few days later to Antwerp may have had something to do with it.

Already achieved much more than his predecessor. He doesn't have to do anything that he didn't already do to beat Koeman.

The target for him is completely different.

Xavi has to match a superior team in Madrid on the domestic front from all points of view, and perhaps beat a superior team in CL. It's very hard to do, but if he is a great manager he will need to find the resources to prove that last season wasn't just a hit and run.

Either this season, or the next. He will have to win titles again. If he does, then he leaves as a very successful Barcelona manager. That's all there is to it.

If he doesn't, then he leaves and we appoint the next guy. Poor bastard is gonna have to at least win the league as a bare minimum to stay on the job.

Good fucking luck to the next manager if Xavi leaves. Only an idiot would take this job on low funds, or a true Barcelonista like him. Or a desperate dude out of a job at the moment.

Fans are too clueless to understand what is going on. How hard it is to win titles so soon in a rebuild project. Team loses 2 starters from last season, spends 3m in the summer to make up for it . This shit is funny. Sometimes I wonder if some of you aren't in your early 20s.
