Not good :(
So it seems Xavi really messed up with things...

Not a problem i Think, it seems that he might not have followed Tata´s instuctions, Tata told him and Xavi agreed that he messed up. Not a big deal, players and Coaches must be able to have a discussion (even heated ones) without its the end of the World, especially the captain and the manager.

I rather watch our players and staff yell at each other than sneak around and take everything without showing any reaction. Like in the last games that the team lost. Nobody seemed to care.

Yup... Besides, people are fickle as they come, if Tata is calm then they demand he shows character, yell instructions and be intense, then he does that and he is the anti-christ...

Yet, nobody seemed to complain when Pep was screaming to our players back in the day...

Tata is no Pep Xavi is bigger than the coach the junior shouldn't yell at his senior :tata1:
The conversation look on the lines of this:
"I've had enough of your shit if I am going out I am gonna go out with my own style and guess what I am gonna concede possession just to make you mad."

Not to be a conspiracy theorist, but he actually indulged a journalists question about Valverde becoming Barca manager.

“They play in this style, a manager who has a good attacking system. It’s not my place to talk about future events.”

Still conservative enough not to say anything that could cause a problem, but he did make a comment on it. Interesting as that suggests that the manager for next season really is up for grabs and that there will be "future events".

If Valverde will convince Laporte to join us then let's bring Valverde :)

The hate is not just focused on Xavi it's on the system we use with all the mids to sacrifice a forward for control.

Welllllll, we have a forward...sort of...

This doesn't happen all the time, but regularly enough to be a problem with the system. If you play with a false #9, that player has to move.

Great post. That gif really gives an example of everything currently wrong at Barcelona as well. 3 players crowded together up front, Alba is lost way up there, Xavi with no one but Song around him, little to no collective movement as a unit, and Messi standing around in no-mans land. The team shape and discipline has gone to dumps under Martino, we need someone who can fix us up badly.

I disagree with your analysis. If Messi moves into the red zone, then he is quickly surrounded by both CBs and the trailing DM, position which will more than likely result in a dispossession of the ball. Messi did the only sensible thing, which was slow down to allow the play to pass him by, thereby becoming "open" behind the play.

The fault there lies with Both wingers for not making diagonal runs into space to open the pass, or at the very least move the CBs and create a window for Messi.

The false 9 requires the wingers to make cutting runs into space to create disorder and confusion in the backline and to open passing lanes. Instead of cutting wide like they did in that gif, both wingers should have recognized the run and immediately cut inside and attack the CBs, that would have at the very least dragged a CB and allowed Messi to run forward.

The right winger specially does poorly here. He has the perfect position to attack the CBs with a cutting run.
