Actually, we conceded because we didn't have possession. I'm fairly sure Getafe had more possession in the last 5-10 minutes than we did.
Barça is inexplicably boneheaded holding a lead with only minutes to go. Why the best possession team in the world STOPS playing possession and grasps for attacking moves when they could bolt the door and throw away the key is beyond stupid. Alves to blame today for the final goal with a terrible unnecessary pass that was easily intercepted, but we've seen it from others on the team as well.
Yeah, and haters, Xavi left the game with Barça leading, having made the key pass to set up Messi's goal, no dispossessions, no turnovers, nearly flawless passing other than 4 long ball attempts, an interception and a won header in the last few minutes he was on, and a team that took 21 shots, 8 on target, and won 11 corners. Blaming him for the draw is baseless scapegoating. There was more than enough offense to put the game to bed earlier, and Xavi had nothing to do with either goal against.

Lafita basically jogged in to the box and recieved a free header which he sent home and ended our title hopes(whatever was left of it)

Playing less. When he's fresh, he plays much better. In his mind he still plays as he did in 2011, but he doesn't... He needs to accept that, and the team has to find a solution to playing without him.
Tata to xavi-you wanna play today?
Xavi-yes I feel like a youngster
Tata-Cesc you are on the bench
Cesc- Sad face
and to some extent, the one against Inter too... We might not have dominated them per se but we were tremendously unlucky that timeThe only time where we were really really unlucky and were far far superior yet lost in the past 3 seasons was the CL semis vs Chelsea.
I agree with all the assessments that we need to find a replacement, he needs to play less, etc. what i find a bit bizarr is that people here make it sound as if he decides whether he plays or for how long. Yes he is a legend and yes, tata may be not as respected as pep, but barca is still a professional club with normal hierarchies, where players play according to the coaches instructions. i mean come on, you make it all sound as if tata writes down the line up while being held at gun point by don xavi and his possession-goons
Xavi has a lot of influence in the dressing room, for all he achieved and for being home grown. I think he has more than Messi, even. Weird you think he doesn't, or that he abides to anything the coach says. This season this got really obvious, even more after the rayo incident.
He was very vocal about how some things are unnegotiable at Barça. I love Xavi, but I think his stubbornness were one more problem to Tata this season. And that's why I think a coach who can deal with him is needed.
