Chief Of Footballing Matters
Xavi Hernández's future remains up in the air. In the latest development, the midfielder's agents have contacted MLS outfit New York City to try to resurrect a deal for the 34-year-old to move to the Big Apple.

The legendary passmaster previously held talks with the newly formed American franchise before the end of last season, but things came to a standstill when the 'Azulgranas' veteran received several juicy offers from Qatar, which seemed primed to become his next destination.

However, now that a move to the Gulf appears off the cards - despite recent interest from Michael Laudrup's Lekhwiya - Xavi has rebounded back to the New York club. The problem is that, having already brought in David Villa and with Frank Lampard on the brink of joining, there may no longer be room at the inn for another big-name signing.

Seems Xavis future is still quite up in the air.

You honestly think these random Qatari clubs or freaking Major League Soccer teams don't want Xavi? He just wants a good club, with lots of cash, and everything in place...otherwise he rather stays.

I guarantee you, if you let Xavi play about 20 games a season and let him do his thing in the right matches (where his skills are required), you will still see the maestro we all know.
Teams like Atletico, the Netherlands etc will simply run over him but if there is a team who tries to dominate the ball, then give me Xavi over every other midfielder in the world. Because he will show who is the real boss with the ball.

Or play a double pivot with Busi and Masch behind/next to him.

I want Xavi to stay so bad and retire in Barcelona. He represents the best era of the club more than anyone else.

chilling in Ibiza
Is that his wife Nuria chilling in the background? ;)

I always wonder why all these famous footballers go to Ibiza on holidays, they're recognized there all the time, strange that they don't want to spend their holidays in a more quiet place.

If he goes to US, then he'll be almost anonymous ;)
