List the squads that are better, then?
It is very unbalanced and more importantly very poorly used, but even so it's tough to say it's not at least top 10, just based on results the last years?

Yes Barcelona need to move on from some of the older players in a few years, and should get rid of a lot of the players that are not yet old. It's key to have competent people make these decisions, or Barcelona will have a squad that is barely top 10 in Spain in just a couple of years, with little possibility to get back to the top.

There's a world of difference between being the best squad in the world and being in the top 10 (i.e. closer to the 10 mark).

The latter will not sniff a CL, and maybe not even a domestic league. I would say this squad is somewhere near the 10th mark, and barely in the top 10 (largely due to Messi and FDJ).

True, you would need a topclass coach to get out the best from a 8-10th team to beat a 3-5th team but how often do you will beat a 1-2th best team `? With luck maybe 3 out of 10 times. This is not enough.

For next season, it looks like there will be 5-6 strong teams in CL and then a huge dropoff. The 5-6 being City, Chelsea, United, Bayern, PSG, and possibly Madrid. We could be among the best teams after those but the gap between us and them will be huge. (#900)

Bayern Munich and Manchester City for example?

That's two examples yes, and I'd agree probably. Real Madrid, PSG and Liverpool maybe, maybe, but what else?

Neither of those teams have Messi, and he is clearly the best player still. I rate Busquets very highly. Frenkie, Alba, MAtS, Pique are pretty great I think. It's easy to dismiss what you already have.

Barcelona aren't utilizing their players the right way. There are still two camps in the squad, and it's not clear who should be in control of the way Barcelona play.
The discussion between Pique and Griezmann when Barcelona were leading (or if they had lost the lead then) vs PSG was very telling.

Would Real add too, if Real they do two great signings, they will be also there. They were weak this season because on injuries, with a full fit team they will be dangerous.

Disagree about United. They are pretenders like us. Only perform when it's Europa or the title is out of reach.

If he's offered the job this summer and doesn't take it he'll probably burn a lot of bridges with the current board.

Additional two seasons in Qatar??? What a greedy guy! He cares only about the money and nothing else. He obviously has no intention to go to Europe and learn in order to be ready for Barca. I am honestly disappointed with him. There is no way in hell he can improve as a coach by working in that half-amateur league.

Taking the smart route. Have we considered that he may just enjoy taking in the big money, tax-free in a relaxed environment. Qatar is a nice place if you're not into drinking and partying.

Probably enjoys having black hair and doesn't want to age 10 years in the space of 10 months which the Barcelona manager job seems to do.
