i feel very strongly that xavi must make an example of the amigos and the whiners by slapping them around the dressing room. he needs to establish his authority and hell have to break some legs, crack some skulls, bruise some people up to do it.

Xavi needs to select his starters and subs based on the players that show up the most in training. He said that's what he'll do and we need to see it on the field. It's impossible to play fast attacking football with players who don't train well and think about other things rather than football.

Yep, because running a professional football team is like running a mafia gang.

You're welcome
Barca job is brutal. Pep was balding and greying in about a season and a half.
It won't be long before Xavi goes through the same.

People said Luis Enrique's hair turned gray rapidly in span of 2015/2016 - 2016/2017. Tough job. May Xavi's hair stay intact.

" Dressing room heavyweights do not agree with all of the new rules imposed by the club"

That term get's funnier with each season. Who even are the "heavyweights" now? Pique, Busquets, Alba? They are not happy? Oh no!

I guess the one upside of having a shitty squad is that all players are replaceable. At this point there is no real hierarchy based on skills because pretty much all the older players are already past it and we have barely anyone who could be considered untouchable. The remaining veterans aren't nearly as important as other past legends, non of these guys is a leader like Puyol or as consistently good as Messi or Xavi. They wouldn't be a big loss, they won't be an integral part of any new team and the club should make that clear. That is if the whole thing isn't just made up as usual of course.

At least when it comes to all of that Xavi has a good opportunity to establish and enforce new rules, because we're at a low point and have no real grown core that has to stay around and be happy. He's free to pick his team and whoever doesn't want to stay or accept new procedures is free to leave and someone else will take the spot without much of a problem.

There is a player who is surprising Xavi a lot in training. [as]

:puig:

Surprising negatively most likely

update: It's Umtiti

Umtiti's maximum self-demand and professionalism has surprised Xavi. [@Elwood_White]

Samuel Umtiti has pleasantly surprised the current coaching staff. So much so that it is not ruled out that he may have his first minutes after the international break. [as]

Hopefully Xavi doesn't fall into the same trap as Koeman. As soon as Umtiti needs to sprint back in a real game he's done (and costed us a goal).
