He was an alpha, the problem was that his ideas weren't that great. An alpha who is not good enough is probably the worst type. Some managers bend for players, Koeman bends for his favorites and treats harshly the ones he doesn't like. It just so happened that some of Koeman favorites were players that are way past it, like Pique and Coutinho (lol). IMO, he didn't lack authority and command, he just used them poorly.

Hopefully, Xavi will not do the same.
