Yeah, overrating Pedri's current level probably. He is not close to the level of a De Bruyne, Modric, Bernardo. Years away. He will get there, but not fast enough to benefit from the last prime years of Lewandowski.

Pedri can interact but he's not an instigator. He doesn't have that temperament. When we had Messi as an instigator, Pedri did really well in the supporting role.

There are things our wide attackers lack in order to become great instigators (Fati: balance, acceleration, Raphinha: patience, experience, Dembele: intelligence, technical dexterity) but they all more or less share that crucial temperament and for that reason, we need them to be seeking these link-ups with Pedri. Or Gavi. Or a one-two drop ball with Busquets for that matter.

In our current formation, most of the time the interiors don't really have the options for starting a move on their own. They need some kind of action--on or off the ball-- from the wingers in order to disrupt the status quo.

Jesus, so many of you guys are so over-critical. It's like Barcelona can't ever have a bad day.

Did you guys watch City vs. Borussia Dortmund in the UCL? City was at least as horrible as Barcelona was against Mallorca. All teams have days like that, players are human. Barcelona has played great football in almost all games this season in all competitions, with the only exceptions being against Rayo Vallecano and Mallorca.

But remember: this is still a team in formation, and they will oscillate. That's more than expected. Xavi is doing as good of a job as it is possible for in this squad and stage of the project.

Yeah, but City has far more often great performances. In simple terms, Barcelona don't play awesome often enough to easily classify bad games as a rarity.

We play ok football most of the time, with both shit games and great games being relatively rare.

Only 2 games under Xavi were actual great performances of a Man City standard if I think about it quickly. Napoli away and Madrid away.

This season I barely see tactics. Midfield is invisible in every match. The ball never goes through the middle. Xavi insists on playing slow high possession again which is to me incredibly stupid. The team is doing well because of individual brilliance but overall play is pretty bad. No intensity or speed.

I was absolutely baffled when people said we don't need Bernarpdo.

Priorities, we need fullbacks more
And honestly, what is Bernardo going to do in a team that insists on using wingers as playmakers? Creating no outlets to any actual playmaker?

Raphinha was in good form during international break, what does Xavi do? Play him at LW where he's totally ineffective. Dembele is playing like hes drunk yet still remains at RW and then he subs off Raphinha after giving him 5min at RW

Alonso ahead of Balde is fucking ridiculous also.

We don't even look like scoring.

Europa league = Xavi should be fired.

Very poor from him. Hopefully he will learn. Use of Raphinha was a complete joke. Not to mention the tactics.

Cannot play against 5 at the back.

His saving grace is that most Spanish teams play 4s and try to play open football so we just beat them based on our quality.
