This summer is gonna be like last summer, where a bunch of fans were like we're gonna sign a bunch of old players, only for us to sign.

Kounde
Raphinha
Christensen
All players in their prime.

This summer will be the same, well sign 1/2 older players, hopefully including gundogan and 2/3 young players.

And they'll still be talking about azpi.

Let's all relax and see how the summer plays out.

Aye just like you argued how great a signing Lewa would be and age no issue.

He signed Lewa at 34 and wasted money. Wanted Azpi. Chased Alonso all summer. Kept Busi at heart of team. Renewed Roberto.

Way it is going will be more of that this summer.

Yet he can cry about 'intensity' when loses when has likes of Busi at heart of team and tries to sell best player in FDJ.

Funny how one minute Raphinha is a top signing in his prime then the next poor Xavi cant cope when has to play him when Dembele out.

Same with FDJ goes from over rated and 5th choice one minute to a player Xavi cant win without the next.

That doesnt add up.

This is not football Manager where all young players need a third of squad to be 30+ to help them develop.

What can Gundogan or Firmino do that Lewa and Busi cant to 'develop' young players?

I wonder how this Carrasco deal came up. Was it literally a case of Atletico coming in for Depay and us thinking "wait a minute" how about we try and get Carrasco out of it? He's a bit alright, we need a left winger anyways". Then Jordi goes to YouTube, watches some highlights from 2015 and convinces himself this will be a great signing. Proceeds to tell Xavi, who says if he is 30+ then he is perfect.

If we really wanted him, couldn't we have rolled him into the Griezmann deal prior? A player we could have leveraged better than Memphis, with knowledge of the oncoming levers and all?

Maybe it is like this...We are brooke, we will sell idiots like Ferret and Ansu, we need to bring Messi, Gundogan, Inigo, CDM and RB, so we need cheap solution, someone who can dribble, who knows the legaue...

He is not Vini, Grealish or Coman, but he can be decent here...

Fuck Firmino.

This guy I can understand, he's 29 so not old, can easily play 3 years at this physical best, is a fast winger than defends, can take on his man, and plays on the left I can understand the logic

Carrasco for Abde place be fine and sell all of Abde, Torres, Fati and Raphinha.

Abde is not good enough.

Watched some of his game today.. terrible.

The folk see some deflected cross and deflected goal from a cut back and think he played well.

Cant see him being a player Xavi wants.

Carrasco as a back up option? And starting left winger? Have someone better in mind?

The plan is Carrasco potential starter and Abde back-up. I'm all for Carrasco as back-up but the club can't sign a top left winger that is better than Carrasco. Doubt it.
