Yaya Toure

Yaya offers greater defensive protection than Biscuits, but our play is much more fluid when Sergi is playing given his ability on the ball. That's why having both of them is a great luxury. I'd hate to see Yaya go and have him either not replaced at all, or someone worse brought in.

i'd like to see yaya up front one day. he has impressed me so much everytime i have seen him live, the goal versus inter was the first time i ever saw him :D he went on that amazing run for the goal against spurs and was crazy good against city and bilbao in pre season. the guy is a hero. can't lose him.

the amount of love this guy gets despite having been underpar for pretty much the entire season is incredible (listen to yourself, ry, every one of those games where he was so boss were in pre-season!)

I want him to succeed, and was so pleased when he bossed it against depor (especially second half) but performances of that standard have been rare this season. he was okay first half of the season, nothing special like last year but certainly not bad. busquets was better, though. and the one chance yaya had to bury busquets for a while, he screwed it up against xerez of all teams! and since the CAN he's just been incredibly out-of-sorts.

still, we know he's a reliable player when in form so we can just hope he stays in form (i.e. hope the depor game wasn't a one-off) until the end of the season at least.

I'd like him to stay, while some people on here are looking at him in a very gooner-esque way (just because he plays for us and is good doesn't make him the best in the world. good lord!) the fact remains he's a very good DM and is obviously a settled part of the squad. but really I don't think he will stay; his agent will sense a big payday out there somewhere and probably push the big man towards it. I hope not, but I feel that's what will happen based on yaya's journeyman career thus far - this is the longest he's been at a club and in his second and this his third seasons his agent has tried to start some shit, almost begging for a transfer.

here we go again..
we had 21 matches since the turn of the year..
yaya played 7 matches this year and he disappointed only TWICE.2 times...
and the rest of the matches he bossed, dominated the midfield and out performed busi.
busi bossed the midfiled, what, only once or twice..
you said busi was better in the first half of the season? how many mistakes did he made that led to a goal?
you said his performance like against depor has been rare? how about stuttgart?and the following match, zaragoza?
how about bilbao? when he took over xavi's role?

so i don't get where you're getting at with busi is better. busi made lot's of mistakes..
man...i don't wanna critisise busi anymore cos im beginning to like him but since you start comparing the two...
i just had to...
busi is good but but yaya is on another level..

our performances vs. stuttgart and athletic were not barcelona-esque at all, very fast, open and direct. so yaya didn't "take over" xavi's role. busquets did, however, earlier in the season (I forget what game exactly but I was pleasantly surprised at how ably he handled the responsibility).

but look, I'm not having this debate again. you yayaistas are pathetic. I want the big man to perform as much as anyone, but he hasn't done the business this season which is why he hasn't started as often as he would have liked to. if he leaves barca this summer, it will be because he has not performed to the high standards he set last season.

zanela said it best; pep obviously prefers busquets' ability to involve himself in our play - so it was up to yaya to prove to pep that he deserved to start ahead of busquets; and he simply has not done that. do I think he should be sold? no. I want him to stay and, hell, I want him to match his performances of last season.

but if he doesn't do it, I won't pretend that he has been.

its true busquets did make a shit load of mistakes in the 1st half of the season, but he has been better than yaya has well.

everyone who has sense knows yaya is the far better player, when on form though.

What a disgrace. It's no wonder Busqi despite all his play acting plays over him.

Probably his worst performance for Barça so far. He's either below 0 on confidence or he just didn't give a flying. The amount of misplaced passes and losses of possession were ridiculous. Hopefully he sorts himself out.

he was pretty bad but peps tactics were absolutely stupid untill yaya was taken off and we reverted to our original formation
