Tuchel

Even Conte by comparison hasn't done anything amazing that Zizou didn't do. He moved a 4-man defense into a 5-man transitional defense with two wing backs and he got found out a season later. By comparison Zidane converted a 4-3-3 into a diamond. Hardly amazing, but noteworthy.
IF i remember correctly Zidane switched to diamond the last 2 months of last year's campaign, mainly because he was trying to find a place for Isco. It worked well, but it was mainly serendipity, and not something consciously planned and tried out as part of tactical construction of a team. Isco was until then seen as a reserve.
For the others, if one sits down and realizes what a shitty squad Chelsea has, he/she will realize Conte worked wonders there. Bar Hazard, Kante and Courtois no other Chelsea squad member will be featuring for any other top teams, because they are from atrocious to mediocre to 'there are many better than me'. Without Conte they would have never won the EPL
Tuchel has done a fantastic job at BVB, producing a side able to play football. The downgrade is evident this season for BVB which has already changed manager. Both Tuchel and Pochetino will shine at a big club, if they prove able to work with start players (sth Emery wasn't).
Thought these luck stories have had their time, but apparently some still believe it's a main factor.
As for luck and merit: The results in the CL the last 3 seasons are undeserved. Not all, but majority. Playing 3 finals in a row is unreflective of what we see on the pitch.
And it should be clear to anyone not blinded by the glare of the white celebration lights of success.
So, yes, all those sayings about luck do not come only from Barca cules blinded by their hatred. They come from neutrals as well, because they have watched football for some years and it's strange to see that amount of luck concentrated on a single coach in his spell.
Tie against Bayern perfectly exemplifies my point.
Look at the
aggregate xGoals scoreline over the two legs:
Deserved qualification for Madrid? Hmmmmm
Scandalous luck is one pillar where the 'Zidane miracle' is resting upon. The other is, as i said, one of the best squads in the recent history of the sport he inherited, and which he man-managed well.
PS: I was saying the same about Lucho's coaching abilities (not about luck though, he did not have all that luck) in relation to Barca's squad.
That's why i am waiting badly for both Zidane and Lucho to take over other clubs. They will be found out so so massively...
