Huge difference when you learn your trade as an assistant than coach & being thrown into the dugout like Maradona without any experience
working with Jose & Carlo plus Castilla.. and taking 3 years to take his license in France with Bernard Lacombe as his teacher & going to Claire Fontaine while he could have got it in Spain in 3 month.. learning from Bielsa & Guardiola attending the training & courses all of these things Maradona didn't do... Maradona was like a kid playing football manager & suddenly he is training.. he only had his charisma no studies unlike Zidane
that doesn't mean he will be a success but the approach is completely different
Zidane didn't say he will play the BBC... he said he plays with 3 attackers... he was smart in his reply
Once again, I wasn't referring to to their abilities as coaches, just that charisma and respect from players won't get him anywhere by itself... If you believe he is prepared for the job, then that's a different story...
I didn't watch his press conference, but read the reports and all said BBC instead of three attackers, even level headed madridistas like Relaño referred explicitly to BBC, so I sincerely apologize for believing the press, my bad...
However, what does it mean for you "play with three attackers"? The current squad has only three real attackers, Benz and Bale are favored by Flo and sidelining Cristiano will only cause more drama within the dressing room... Perhaps the other option could be James, who is also favored by Flo, but that would mean dropping one of the above and he's more of an AM, so I'm not sure how that would work... And even if somehow he managed to fit them all in, does it really solve the balance issues the team has? Or is there a new signing coming?
