Not to do with the amount of time, makes every bit of sense how long he's here, but wrong decisions in certain moments and falling back on old habits. No excuse for sticking with the striker he sticks with and not incorporating a competitor making us absolutely dependent on the one man. No excuse for letting the other midfielders, the supposed 3rd CB and the reserve RB get no time. Last month or so was absolutely avoidable.

Signs were there earlier than last month though, right?

There were no signs of such horrendous conservatism with the 11s leading to underuse of players he very much should be using for successful transition. Odegaard was doing fine prior to injury. Same with Fede. Instead he's gone ahead and got a boner cuz Vazquez played a good month and thinks Modrić can play back to back fixtures all season as he did in November. Decisions in the last 1.5 month made no sense.

Now we played that supposedly on form 11 and got battered by Bilbao, only to play almost entire B-team today and lost because 80% of them did not touch the ball for months.
No sense. Played himself.

Doesn't mean anything. We need to be attractive for talent who want to see us as competitive in Europe more than domestically, especially now that Barcelona are as garbage or worse. Otherwise the calibre of players who we end up buying will drastically go down and better teams will get the better players.
Madrid will always be attractive. Managed to get CR7 and Kaka when their teams were at the top. Do not worry too much, but ZZ has to leave.

It's wildly different to that time. Back then Perez would splash 300M on 8 players in one window to rebuild. Impossible now.

Yh which is why it counts to play well with less these days just to not have to need replacing entire formations at a time when time's up and add 1 good player to elevate level bit by bit. We're the antithesis of foresight with squad policy. Coasting to no end and running down contracts only to become dependent on players who happen to be free and buying a 28 year old for marketing to try and stay current and relevant. Team isn't untalented but needs structure and clearly making use of the investments instead of benching the fuck out of them for months.

Bar some disaster of unimaginable magnitude, Real Madrid will always be attractive to top players. It is the history, prestige, fame and money. As much as I don't want them to be the top dog but this is also good for us, making the Spanish league more appealing and relevant and giving us the pressure and motivation to up our game.

Already since he came back to lead the 'rebuilding' the signs were there.
Letting go of pieces that could be important in rebuilding, failing to incorporate transfers (some of them costed a lot like Jovic).
And the he got too much credit for winning LaLiga last season, against the worst Barcelona of many years, and still with horrendous performances tbf (it's fair to say that in terms of football last Laliga was for RM equivalent to Valverde's LaLigas without Messi's individual magic).

Perez should have known better. He had the chance to sing Poch a whole year. Unacceptable.
But as a Barca fan I could not be more happy with how things turned out. Poch would be a nightmare for Barca, as he was the best qualified to do that rebuilding.

Sure there were signs of negligence regarding some younger guys. But at the same time he just preferred others. Likes of Llorente are proving perhaps not fit for purpose. The bigger issue in that case I feel was not getting an appropriate replacement for the position. Wouldn't even be talking about it if we signed a good reserve DM i.e. Javi Martinez or so.

Getting credit for winning the best Zamora in 35 years is not 'too much credit'. Defense was good even by European standards and Madrid numbers never looked as good as they did. The issues were on the other side of the field, which have been brushed over by fans blindly claiming the biggest and the ONLY threat being the baldfraud is not an issue. But even that could be rectified by better decisions as everyone understood reasons why offense sucked in 19/20 (lack of time for Hazard and Jović).

No, we didn't have the chance to sign Poch all year nor should we have considered it. You'd not approve the move if you were in the circumstance we were in. Pre-Gladbach game was the right time to pull the trigger, even if risky as could mean CL exit in groups, but that's not something Poch or the board should be blamed for, Zidane would have made the bed for that.
